Applications Now Being Accepted for WB Animation/H-B Scholarship

Applications are now being accepted for the Warner Bros. Animation/Hanna-Barbera Scholarship, an annual award given to a graduating high school senior enrolling in a college, university or trade school to study animation.

The scholarship was created in 2007 in honor of the late Bill Hanna and Joseph Barbera, and the great animation legacy of both Hanna-Barbera Studios and Warner Bros. Animation. Hanna passed away in March 2001, and Barbera died in December 2006.

Each cash scholarship is for $10,000, disbursed annually in equal amounts over the course of enrollment. Applicants are evaluated based on a number of criteria, including their passion and talent for a career in animation and demonstrated financial need. A minimum GPA of 3.0 upon graduation is required. In addition to the annual disbursement, the scholarship winner will be offered four consecutive paid summer internships at Warner Bros. Animation in Burbank while in college.

Applicants must complete the Warner Bros. Hanna-Barbera Animation Scholarship application and return it, along with support materials, no later than 5:00 pm on the first Monday in February. Short-listed applicants may be asked to complete a short interview. The winner will be notified in early March 2008.
